SAB (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Black agricultural entrepreneur, to acquire ownership in one of our successful Hop Farms, nestled in the picturesque Outeniqua Mountain range just outside the town of George, along the Garden Route.
As part of SAB’s supply base transformation and supplier development initiatives, we are looking for a suitably skilled and experienced Black farming entrepreneur to have equity and manage one of our Hop Farms in George. The Hop Farm is well maintained, has good equipment and infrastructure and has guaranteed market for all of its produce (100%) from SAB Hop Farms Ltd. The Hop Farm currently cultivates some 20 hectares of land and has a permanent headcount of 4 staff members (including you as farm owner). In season the temporary staff compliment increases to around 50 people.
In addition to equity, The entrepreneur will also receive top mentorship and development from existing and experienced coaches to grow the Hop Farm business further.
The successful candidate needs to have 3+ years experience in an agricultural environment, including business acumen and people management skills. The ideal candidate must be passionate about working on a farm, and be committed to being involved in the day to day operations.
Qualification
• BSc. / BTech. in Agriculture or equivalent qualification
• Post graduate business qualification would be beneficial
• 3+ years practical agricultural/farming experience
• Good commercial acumen
• Good communication skills and developed leadership skills
• Valid driver’s licence

Very sad this opportunity is only extended to a black entrepreneur. I do understand the BEE policy of Sabmiller. But this is discrimination.

John,start your own HOP farm. Grow lemons and make lemonade… the system did not create itself,it was suppressed since 1900. Remember that and change it yourself when you start the farm.
