I live in America, but I keep myself in African news, interest, and concerns. Do you know what they say about you in Africa, here in North America and abroad in Europe? Too many still view you in negative stereotypes, and are way too ready to dismiss their own hand in how things exist for Africa.
Hundred of girls can get kidnapped, and famine can affect regions in Africa, and people largely don’t even care. A few people here get killed in a massacre, and suddenly, the whole world’s paying tribute and respect to these North American and European nations.
Trust me when I say, they PROJECT a “clan-based thinking” on you. You can’t even talk as black people about black issues without their constant dismissing you. There’s no sense of just “they should be more responsible” from outer society.
Many literally look down at you, consider themselves as inherently better than you, while still wishing to exploit your land rich with resources. The world only cares about Africa when it wants something from Africa–and usually, they’re exploiting the very corruption you claim we need to clean up.

Black slaves were forced to whip their fellow black men and women who disobeyed their masters. How do you expect a black man to trust his fellow black man today? How do you expect a husband to trust a wife today? Black men in America did not have families for over 200 years. A wife could be forced to spend the night with her master and return back to her husband the next morning. A child from such marriage belonged to the master who could sell any one of the family at will. While all this was happening, Jews were building up their businesses and imparting the knowledge to their successive generations. So is it fair comparing Jews to blacks today? It’s a miracle we still have blacks citizens in America today.

True, they are all victims of their circumstances. Generations of dehumanization has led the black man to direct his anger towards his own brother. It’s like the modern day man who is mistreated by his boss at work. Because he cannot vent his frustrations on his boss he goes home and takes it out on his wife and kids. Generations of untreated PTSD from slavery which has lead to PTSD single parents (mostly) imparting some unhelpful and aggressive behaviors to their children and which continues to exist today. I claim that I “see further” than most blacks because my white slave owner descendant gave half of his land to his slave children. As far as the poor quality of education at black schools what do you think the cause of that is? It’s not like they have 100 year old text books or don’t have a pencil sharpener or blackboard or the teachers are not qualified or they speak another language . From what I have seen black schools are terrible for a few reasons & lack of funding or after school programs or any other liberal garbage is just bull$h1t. For one too many black parents don’t care. They allow their children to do whatever they want. When they do something terrible the parent goes up to the school & blames the school. They say their kid would never do whatever they have been accused of. With parenting like this I seriously doubt that they make sure their kid has done their homework or they help them with their homework. I mean anytime you go to a black neighborhood the kids are out at 1am on a school night & when I say kids I don’t mean 16 year old I mean kids that look 10 or 12 years old. This directly translates into the way black kids behave at schools. I read the other day about St Louis which is a mostly black school district. 60% of white teachers quit on their very first day. They quit because the way the black kids behave. The violence & disrespect towards teachers is out of control. The teachers quit because they don’t feel safe & who can blame them. The black community in general doesn’t help because they never hold each other accountable. This idea of we need to stick together no matter what is poisonous to the community. Many things you said in your comment were presented as explanations but really they are just excuses. Blacks are not the only ones that had it rough in America. Just look at the Irish , Italians & Asians to name a few. They had it very rough too but they don’t dwell in it they turned adversity into motivation & moved on & that’s what black people need to do. I heard something once that is so true & it really seems to apply to the black community. The person said “holding onto resentment is like drinking poison & waiting for the other person to die”. I agree with you on questionable parenting of some black families. Frankly speaking, the parenting thing has a lot more do with low income and poor families than the color of skin or culture. As a social worker, i have worked with poor families both white and black. Most financially stable ( both white and black) families have relatively respectful kids because, as human nature, the kids know they stand to lose a lot should they not respect their parents. A poor black or white single mother with 2 or more kids has little influence over their kids because there’s very little financial support for the kids. It’s sad. One of my protege’s shoplifted and got caught because she wanted what her friends had. Her single mom could barely put food on the table let alone buy her expensive whatever(And expensive here is relative as well).
I have always wished human beings had all the wisdom they would ever get in life upfront so they can understand their situations in life and start making good decisions right off the bat. Many of these kids(the girls), just like their parents, will end up pregnant at a young age , with little life experience and their kids will suffer the same fate as them and the vicious cycle continues. The boys will end up in jail due to illiteracy.
I agree it is only a fool who thinks blacks, whites, Asians etc should only band together with their own kind. That is such a flawed thinking and provides no solution. Society needs to come together, understand that poverty is the root of many of these issues and not skin color, not black or white culture. Society needs to create opportunities and create programs that will encourage some of these kids to have alternative choices instead of the hopelessness many of them face.
On the contrary I believe that it has little to do with low income or poor families and has more to do with the morals of the parents. I am personally Asian and my parents came from mainland china with nothing but a suitecase of belongings and immediately began working in sweatshops. They worked in agonizing conditions for maybe $50 a day. On top of paying rent, utilities, and food they spent their extra money not on themselves but to send me to after school tutoring programs so that I could learn more than what I was taught in school and excel further than my fellow students, which I did. Buying unecessary things such as toys and games were not priorities, however they would never hesistate anything that would help me with my education. I spent very little time with my parents as a young child and spent most of my time in day cares while they were at work. However, the free time that they did have they spent it all on me and taught me core morals. No matter how poor I was growing up I never stole, not even when my “best friends” growing up were stealing makeup from drug stores; this is because I was taught better by my parents. This is not only a personal experience, but something many of my Asian friends experience as well. Our parents will willingly give up their entire lives to ensure we have a better future and that is why we excel in society. Not because “we are asian”, but because we put the time and effort into our education.
With that being said. I do not believe the intention is for our races to stick to our own kind but rather to INVEST into our own neighborhoods. Races cannot help but to inhabit neighborhoods that have a volume of their own kind. We are inclined to sought after our own culture and roots. There will always be neighborhoods of different races. If you look at Jewish and Asian neighborhoods you will notice that we essentially keep eachother wealthy. We open our own restaurants, clothing shops, real estate agencies, tutoring centers, and even adult day care centers! We live in our own communities and we continue to better them as it grows. We create jobs for our own kind; we feed our own. Many people within our communities are illiterate and some do not even speak a speck of English, but yet they flourish. Why? Because our communities allow them to do so. We allow such an opportunity to exist, something that rarely exists in black communities. Black people are quick to give their money to the same people who oppress them by buying expensive rims, shoes, and accessories.
Many many people in my neighborhood are poor, some are even fresh immigrants straight from china, but they selflessly work hard in order to give their children the next best shot at success. You cannot always blame everything on poverty, especially not in this country where everyone has a chance at success. Our people said fine if the white man can not provide opportunities for us, we will create our own! And this is the one of the few countries that allow us to do so. Yes poverty does play a huge role, but it is how you decide to act in the face of adversity that will determine your outcome. You may not be able to ensure that you will achieve success in your lifetime, but you can do your best to ensure your children will have a chance to do so.
More of the stereotype that black people are the leaders in spending solely on expensive items that they can’t afford. Then why on Black Fridays after Thanksgiving I see various races fighting over big screen Tv’s , toys , and many of the capitalistic junk that are sold on that day if black people are the only people spending their money foolishly ?? The overwhelming debt carried by American families across races are astounding , and all not due to School tuitions and mortgages , but for some reason the black person with the car rims keeps being the poster image of financial responsibility?. The notion that black people are committing the most crimes , and yet ,you see a great number of whites in prison as well. Also , it’s a fact that most people are likely to be victimized by someone from the similar race than from a different race.
I’ve been hearing for years how black people lead in every negative aspect in society from crime , drug use , alcoholism , smoking ,
, illiteracy , teen pregnancy , single parenting , domestic abuse , promiscuous sexual behavior , obesity , poor diet , poor health , poor spending , poor saving , disease contraction , and even car crash deaths. As to single parent homes, it’s not having a father around to shoulder his responsibility to a family. Where mommy has to be mommy, daddy and it’s too much any number of times.
Then few are taught how to parent. As said, kids wondering around instead of being made to do their homework, getting i n bed at a decent time and establishing consistent patterns for stability.
The Bible tells how things should be done, but there’s things not mentioned that are simply assumed to be known, but that was in ancient Israel where it was a given so needn’t be written or spelled out.
First comes love of God. Or maybe love of one another, which they’re reciprocal.
Again, blaming white people???? I won’t go into life’s of most white people as the media and everyone else makes it sound like white peoples’ lives were a walk in the park.
But, how many white people were killed in the Civil War? In WWI? WWII? How many white people had their guys cut out, arms and legs blown off from explosions? How many black people? Blacks weren’t seen as competent and thereby deferred from combat positions. With a few exceptions.

Which feeds these different racial ideologies that self feed.
Oh and there’s live film footage of white people in all these wars. Some returning without arms and legs, some with parts of their faces missing, some crippled from things. In America no one care where you came from or what struggles you’ve had (regardless of what the pandering types will tell you) they care about what you can do. I don’t know who did this interview or for what, but I think that this article come off as bias and a bit racist. This Jewish man has NO right to speak about something that he knows absoutlely NOTHING about. I am sick and tired of these immigrants coming here acting like they are experts on the “Black race” and on “Black issues” when in reality they are ignorant and know nothing. First of all, I feel that Blacks have the right to spend THEIR hard EARNED money on whatever they feel like WITHOUT being shamed, criticized or shuned for it. If a Black person wants to spend $100 on a Gucchi Bag then that’s THEIR business. NOBODY critcizes Paris Hilton or these rich Asian or Arab people who buy designer bags for themselves or for their kids on their birthdays but as soon as a BLACK person starts buying designer clothes we are shamed and critized and all the sudden we have to start “saving our money.” I refuse to tell other GROWN people on how they should spend their money.
Another thing, BLACKS DO NOT KILL EACH OTHER. ITS STREET GANGS IN CERTAIN PARTS OF CERTAIN NEIGHORHOODS WHO ARE PARTICIPATING IN STREET GANG VIOLENCE BUT THIS ISN’T JUST A “BLACK THING” ITS STREET GANG VIOLENCE THAT AFFECTS POOR COMMUNITIES OF ALL RACES IN THIS COUNTRY NOT JUST “BLACKS”. Third, Blacks are NOT Jews and they do NOT think like Jews. Jews I think have more of a COLLECTIVE mentality meaning “lets support each other” whereas Blacks I think have more of an individualism mentality meaning “screw everybody Im out to get mine no matter who is in my way even if I have to step on my own to make it to the top” BUT that is AMERICAN society and AMERICAN culture in GENERAL. BLACKS are apart of AMERICAN society and AMERICA as a whole is a cut throat capitalist system which supports rugged individualism whereas immigrants from other nations have more of a collective mentality and support each other and I also think that this comes from immigrants having the advantage of having their own country.
Immigrants have the blessing and advantage of having their own country and their own land where its easy to “support your own” and do business with each other and have more common ground because they are homogenus nations. Blacks on the other hand, have the disadvantage of living in a country that’s ruled and dominated by someone else who MAY not like them so it may be ALOT more difficult to start businesses or even have your own communities without the threat of someone else tearing it down or even if your business IS successful, it is under threat of being bought out by the more dominant powers.
Also, Blacks are AMERICAN and we support AMERICAN businesses. MOST Blacks in this country have NO connection to Africa and MOST Africans don’t even LIKE African Americans because of the cultural disconnections so this Jewish man is WRONG on that note. Plus, we have been doing JUST fine REGUARDLESS of the issues that we have God is still taking care of us and we don’t need no Jewish man’s opinion on how we mow OUR grass.

So true hence I came up with an innovative initiative called The Gifted Hands Initiative; which is the platform for sharing skills and reading self help books together to enhance our creative ability.
I think our social clubs need to move from night clubs and entatainment areas to libraries and book clubs. My ideas are so brilliant as a young person, I just wish that I could be given a platform to initiate and implement them.
Our government should prioritize education and human capital. As a young woman I don’t want to make a baby and receive a child support grant. I am worth more than that. I don’t want my stomach to be fed; feed my brain and when my brain is filled I can take care of my stomach and even feed others for a life time.
I just feel that as a country we need to get our priorities straight, or else poverty will remain inevitable. We need to change our way of thinking, engaging in book reading sessions to increase productivity. The government that fails to invest in its citizenry it’s going no where.
The government should give young women like myself and others the platform to present our ideas and contribute positively in our society. I have ideas of eradicating youth unemployment in my country but where and how do I go about it. Public participation is mentioned many times on our local government manifesto but when and how is it going to be initiated?
This is not just a message but a cry out and hope it reaches the relevant person.

This is a refreshingly honest commentary. Its not only the Jewish community that apply this practice, its prevalent in the Muslim, Portuguese, Italian, Afrikaans and in some cases the ex pat (i.e. English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish) communities.

As a black male (entrepreneur) currently living just outside NYC I (resident for over 20 years) I have learnt a lot about Jewish wealth creation.
Just a quick side note my parents immigrated here from Madagascar. They barely spoke English and worked hard to provide for their family.
That being said from direct experience I’ve seen my family from the homeland which is a 3rd world country and through hard work and perseverance from my grandparents and other family members banned together to set up my parents for a better life in the US. My parents didn’t speak much English, had $100 in their pocket and came here to study medicine. They worked as dishwashers and stayed with members of a church while attending medical school. They are now practicing mid level doctors in their 60’s.
It can be done no matter what the circumstances. Madagascar is a 3rd world country where the average worker makes $50/month or so. High unemployment, corrupt government and political unrest plagues the country.
I think a lot of minorities in America are discouraged or feel it’s not possible to succeed based upon their circumstances. There are opportunities and it just depends on how hard you want to work for it. Others may have a advantage but we can’t let that stop us from moving forward.
Back to the topic at hand. As a New Yorker there is no disputing that there are many Jewish owned/operated business in many sectors from small businesses to corporations. Probably more than any other place in the country. In my humble opinion since they own and or operate these business they control they have the right to decide who they hire and whom they chose to do business with. We cannot be upset about this as it’s not ours.
I’m working to change the cycle and am working to build a business that can be passed down to the next generation. I’ve worked for others over a decade and saved money and now I’m buying up multi family apartment buildings and flipping homes. It’s not a race thing to me it’s about never having to depend on anyone for my survival or my family’s.
I learned a lot about one of the wealthiest group of people and they do take care of their own and think about the next generation. Instead of complaining about it take a page from their book and start building.
Thank you! People love to talk and complain yet they do not do anything about it. Many people, especially those who are born here have never seen true poverty in third world countries. The struggle that immigrant parents go through in these third world countries can not even compare to what people of the most poor conditions will go through in this country. When these immigrant parents come to America, they do everything in their power so that their children will never go through what they had to go through.
“They do take care of their own” very well said. They focus on future generations and put aside the “what I want for myself” mentality. What is sad is that these are immigrants who are still relatively new to the country (not just Jewish), are only a couple generations old, but yet have excelled further than black communities that have been here for far much longer, solely based on the “take care of our own” mentality.

I am a 1st generation female immigrant from China, a culture discriminates against women for thousands of years. I came here at 23 for grad school to study science. I worked my way through grad school and there after. Now I consider myself an average middle class American with a house and cars. I am paying for my children to go to college.
For what I see, Asians as a minority group are doing reasonably well financially even though we came here with nothing, and we all speak very bad English.
A few things I think are common among Asians that are important for our success:
1. Perseverance. I, for one, never give up. I know I have no one but myself to count on since day one in America. I blame no one for my failure and I’ll keep trying until I succeed.
2. Discipline. I always keep my words and I always give 110% on everything I do.
3. When it comes to raise children, I believe in “lead by example”. For anything I ask my children to do, I do it myself at 110%.
I love America because it is the land of opportunity, even though I have to work my butt off every day for that. I think that is true for everyone including Blacks.

Black people in the US are descendants of enslaved people in the United States. The playing field has never once been even and we have constantly had many set backs. In 2017, we still face too many set backs (some internal) but most from external factors and it will still take a few more generations until we finally have it together. And to you immigrants (especially non-African American, black immigrants) living in the United States, shame on you.
